The 49th annual 4-Ball Invitational is Saturday and Sunday at Cleveland Heights Golf Course.
The 36-hole, best-ball event is Polk County's second major amateur tournament of the year.
The tournament supports junior golf in the county by awarding college scholarships.
Crislyn Lucas of George Jenkins High School, Steven Pike of Lakeland High, and Joshua Wilson of Lakeland High are receiving $5,000 scholarships through the Polk Education Foundation.
The 4-Ball has given a total of $111,000 in college scholarships, $54,000 to The First Tee of Lakeland, $20,000 to Florida Southern's golf programs, and $13,000 to the Junior Citrus program in the summers at Cleveland Heights.
The tournament is also recognizing two people as the first inductees into the 4-Ball Hall of Fame based on contributions to the 4-Ball on and off the course. They will be announced on Friday about 3:30 p.m. at the No. 1A tee prior to the long-drive contest.
Drew Downs and Gary Cona are the defending 4-Ball champions.
The Championship and First Flight will play the B and C courses on Saturday, then the C and A courses on Sunday. Players from either flight, playing from the black tees, are eligible for the overall title.
